Hello and Croeso!

We are passionate about the wonder of nature as a powerful and inclusive teacher.

We believe every person has their own unique way of seeing the world and their own strengths they bring to the table. We believe that regardless of those differences, we are all connected to each other and to nature; we’re all part of the same ecosystem.

But many have lost that connection.

We want to change that – we want to reconnect you to nature

We want to help people of all ages, to reconnect with it in a space that makes them feel at ease and empowered to learn in the way that best suits them. We believe this is one of the ways we can also do our bit for nature.

Through nurturing diversity and connection, we all thrive.

— Catherine Moyle, Founder of natur ni

This belief forms the backbone of our culture at natur ni activities.  Our culture is one of inclusivity, support, and empowering experiences.

In Wales, our relationship with nature is in our language, our culture and our bones…

‘Dod yn ôl at Fy Nghoed’ is a beautiful Welsh proverb.

“To return to my trees” is the literal translation. It conveys the idea to ‘relax, unwind and calm your mind. To find mental balance.

But, as is often the case with proverbs, it conveys so much more than that.

For as long as I can remember, I have always felt most at home in nature. From learning names of bugs and flowers while strolling down country lanes with grandparents. To climbing trees, making dens, and exploring in the woods until the sun went down.

Young person learning in nature

The wonder and inspiration of nature was a powerful yet patient teacher in my childhood. In nature was the place where I felt most at ease.

This is the feeling that I try to re-create at every natur ni experience.

Catherine Moyle – Founder and Forest School Leader

It’s fair to say that being outdoors in nature was a constant in my childhood.

From my late teens, ‘formal education’ and my love of languages took me down a path of 20 years of work in the private, third and public sectors. Filled with a variety of roles that brought me into contact with many different people and sectors.

Training, supporting and empowering others was consistently the satisfaction that I gained from the ‘day job’. Throughout that time, my obsession with and connection to nature never left me. It was fulfilled, instead, in every waking moment outside of the ‘day job’.

In 2023, I reached a crossroads in career and health. It ignited in me a desire to take more action for nature and do things for me, and my young family differently…

My inner ‘nature-geek’ teamed up with my ‘professional self!’ And thus the concept of natur ni was born.

natur ni, brings together the ‘nature knowledge’ I've been amassing since childhood, with the range of professional and interpersonal skills I've been refining over 20+ years in the ‘day job.’

In line with our values, natur ni has committed to take positive action for the environment by:

  • Sourcing as many services and suppliers as locally as possible. E.g. our branding, translation and hosting of this site are done by businesses based in Wales. This website is also hosted on carbon neutral UK servers. Supporting local reduces mileage and thus our carbon footprint.

  • Encouraging participants who will be attending our activities to consider car sharing.

  • Continuously seeking ways to keep waste to a minimum while encouraging an ethos of recycling and waste reduction.
